HEALTH WARNING!
MINIATURITIS is a highly contagious condition, usually affecting adults of both sexes, but may also be contracted by younger age groups.
SYMPTOMS:
Early symptoms often include denial, with sufferers claiming their interest is purely on behalf of a five-year old relative/friend. Within a short space of time, the patient becomes secretive, devious, appears deaf to their spouse & children and often neglects everyday activities such as housework, shopping etc..
Chronic sufferers tend to lose touch with reality and find them-selves in Dolls House shops looking for items for their real home.
SIGNS TO LOOK FOR:
A glazed, faraway look - as if daydreaming. Sudden & unaccountable interest in scraps of wood, bottle tops, architecture and interior design of earlier periods. Holidays & outings change their usual pattern to include visits to shops, fairs and museums with a dolls house theme.
Although not fatal, Miniaturitis is incurable and steadily worsens to the point of obsession. Patience and understanding, together with regular treatments of shops, fairs & magazines will ease the worst of the symptoms, but partners of Miniaturists usually find themselves developing the symptoms, at which point the only problems incurred are those of agreeing on the choice of wallpaper, furnishings etc..
